2009-2010 Call for Applications

The Canadian Health Services Research Foundation, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Fund, is pleased to announce that the following individuals have been selected by the Harkness Selection Committee as the 2008-2009 Canadian Harkness Associates.

Patricia O'Connor

Associate Director of Nursing (Neurosciences) and Co-Director of Best Practices Program. Department of Nursing, McGill University Health Centre

 

Mark Dobrow

Scientist, Cancer Services & Policy Research Unit, Cancer Care Ontario and Assistant Professor, Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University

 

Two Harkness awards for mid-career health services and policy researchers, decision makers (health system managers, clinical leaders, and government policy makers) or journalists are awarded annually through open competition.

Beginning with the class of 2008-09, two important new features have been introduced to enhance the Canadian associates’ experience:

  • arrangements for Canadian and U.S. mentors;
  • the addition of a $20,000 U.S. research and travel stipend.
