Joint Training Award Holders:

Joint Training Awards

In 1999 and 2000, the Foundation co-funded the Joint Training Awards with a number of federal, national and provincial funding agencies. This was an interim measure to fund postdoctoral, doctoral and master's students pending the development and implementation of the training components of the Foundation's CADRE program. The seven partner agencies were:

  • British Columbia Health Research Foundation
  • Canadian Nursing Foundation
  • Conseil Québécois de la recherche sociale
  • Fondation de recherche en sciences infirmières du Québec
  • Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec
  • Medical Research Council - now the Canadian Institutes of Health Research
  • Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council

The Foundation invested over $816,000 and $889,000 in 1999 and 2000 respectively to help award-holders complete their studies. The Foundation will provide graduate-level support through the Regional Training Centres in the future.
