  • Focusing on Sustainability: EXTRA Community of Practice meeting in Montreal (March 2007)

EXTRA fellows tapped into the knowledge of change and sustainability experts Jean-Louis Denis and Marcel Villeneuve in an effort to enhance their knowledge of methods for ensuring the sustainability of their intervention projects. Fellows took the opportunity to ask questions and share insights on the topic of sustainability, clarifying different definitions of the term and discussing how their projects have affected cultural change and how to adapt to ongoing change.

  • Championing collaboration and quality improvement: Community of Practice session at the EXTRA residency session in Alberta (August 2007)

Both current and graduated cohorts of EXTRA fellows gathered in Kananaskis, Alberta or connected remotely through web and teleconference to enhance their knowledge around online collaborative tools and how to use these emerging technologies to stay connected. Fellows heard from Maura Davies, CEO for the Saskatoon Health Region, about her efforts to use blogging as an internal communication tool and the benefits and pitfalls that come with the practical application of this technology. Fellows also got a sneak peek at the Foundation’s dissemination initiative on quality, touring some of the podcasts and resources included in the initiative.
